ABOUT ME

My name is Kathryn Nino Lamana, and I am 30 years old. I was born in The Republic of Georgia, and was adopted to America when I was young. I have a BFA in Photography & Computer Imagery. After graduating in 2016, I began working for a National Geographic Photographer. Additionally, I served in The Peace Corps, living in The Republic of Georgia, where I was working on Youth Engagement and Community Development in rural communities.

I recently completed my MA in International Peace, Conflict, and Development. My Masters Dissertation was a photo exhibition project for Internally Displaced (IDP) women from the war in Abkhazia in The Republic of Georgia; utilizing photography and story telling as a form of conflict documentation and women's empowerment in the community. The project titled Voices of Abkhazia: Gendered Perspectives is already available here on my website.

I am looking to work with organizations in the field of Communications, Development, and Humanitarian Aid. In the future, I hope to help people in vulnerable areas impacted by war through Photography. More specifically, I am interested in IDP/refugee/immigrant communities (women, queer, children); working in story-telling, interviewing, and documentation processes, etc.
